In December 2013 Emer was invited by her alma mater, Dublin City University, to give a talk at their maiden TEDx event on the theme “Changing Lives & Transforming Communities“. As activism has been an important element in her professional career, she chose to talk about this overlap and how empowering and satisfying it has been.
